The million dollar question - can you reverse aging naturally? The five dollar answer is yes, and it’s easier than you think. The simplest means of helping your skin look and feel younger is to change out a few lifestyle habits - are you ready for that?

Reverse Aging With Food

Premature aging is associated with free radical damage, in some cases. Free radicals are a naturally-occurring element in the body that, typically, we can fight off and destroy without issue. However, thanks to environmental pollutants, stress, poor eating habits, and other lifestyle choices, free radicals often take over healthy cells and kill the cells in the process of replication.

You see, free radicals use healthy cells to grow in number, but they leave the cell dead before moving on. As dead cells accumulate, signs of premature aging start to show, and that’s where amazing anti-aging products from Nutrafeel. But, you can make changes at home that work from the inside out while that effective serum works to reverse aging.

Foods That Fight Free Radicals

The free-radical fighting ability of foods is measured on the ORAC scale. The higher the ORAC, the better the antioxidant profile and antioxidants are friends when you want to reverse aging. You may immediately think citrus fruits, but vitamin C isn’t the only antioxidant.

Foods high in antioxidants, and thus fantastic for fighting premature aging and killing off free radicals, include:
  • Dark Chocolate
  • Blueberries
  • Artichokes
  • Strawberries
  • Raspberries
  • Goji Berries
  • Red Cabbage
  • Kale
  • Beets
  • Beans
  • Spinach
(Thank you to Healthline for the fantastic list of high antioxidant foods.)

How Do Antioxidants Reverse Aging?

There are multiple theories on how free radicals play a part in the aging process. Some experts believe the oxidative stress caused by free radicals damages cells enough to cause the skin to sag and wrinkle. Others believe there is a connection, but the exact way antioxidants affect the aging process is not totally clear.

There’s one thing we know for certain --- free radicals, in large enough amounts, cause damage to the body, PERIOD! The damage DOES impact skin, and even if science isn’t sure to what extent, eating the right, healthy antioxidant-rich foods is a great choice no matter what.

What About the Power of Water?

Water is the liquid of life. Without it and the body would wither and stop working in days. Hydration also plays a part in aging. When skin is dry and shriveled, those fine lines and wrinkles look more profound. Check out Water for Skin: Benefits of Good Hydration to learn more.
